What we do

At New Directionz, we help people prepare for life beyond prison—and walk beside them after release.

Our work focuses on supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community, helping them avoid re-offending and rebuild their lives with confidence, stability, and purpose.

Whether someone is nearing release or has recently returned home, we offer practical support, guidance, and connection.

Pre-Release Support

Many people leave prison feeling unsure, unprepared, and overwhelmed. That’s why we engage early—sometimes months before release—to provide:

We help individuals build confidence and capability in areas like communication, decision-making, time management, and emotional control.

Give your time to help us make a difference. Join our team and contribute to meaningful change in the lives of those affected by the criminal justice system.

Raise awareness and support crucial policy changes for prisoners' rights and effective rehabilitation programs. Your voice truly matters.

Post-Release Reintegration

The first weeks after release are critical. We walk with individuals as they re-enter daily life, helping them find their footing. Our post-release support includes:

One-on-One Support

We listen without judgment and help individuals navigate everyday challenges—from opening a bank account to applying for Centrelink.

Family Reconnection

We support families impacted by incarceration—offering tools to rebuild trust, improve communication, and create stronger relationships.

Access to Therapy

With access to services like equine-assisted therapy, neurofeedback, and schema work, we help people manage trauma, addiction, and emotional triggers.

Community Building

Our participants are never alone. We host small groups, drop-in sessions, and social support circles that promote belonging and purpose.

Why It Works

We believe real change comes through trust, consistency, and human connection.

What sets us apart:

Our team includes people who have faced the justice system and come out stronger. Their insight helps us build trust where others can’t.

We don’t treat people like problems to be fixed. We help them discover their strengths and put them to work.

From housing to healing, our support goes beyond short-term solutions. We’re here for the full journey.
